Experience the delights of an alfresco wedding celebration in the restored period Deer House in the parkland, just a short distance from the hotel on Swinton Estate.
The Deer House is perfect for those seeking somewhere truly out of the ordinary, for either a daytime wedding breakfast or an evening barbecue celebration. By day, enjoy the parkland setting with ancient trees, wide skies and views over the castle and Home Lake. By night, enjoy the magic and romance of a candle-lit setting, with torches to light the way and glowing braziers to ward off the evening chill, with acoustic music to entertain guests or a silent disco for something that little bit different.
Wedding packages at the Deer House can be tailored just for you, from intimate one-day weddings to our lavish three-day celebration across the Swinton Estate.
Looking after your guests
While the rustic nature of the Deer House is part of its charm, creature comforts are not forgotten. Windowed sides can be lowered in wet or windy weather and party tents set up to provide additional protected space outside. Those not wishing to walk from the Hotel can be transported by car or minibus. Not forgetting the blankets, cushions and outdoor furniture to create the perfect Yorkshire outdoors wedding.
From intimate ceremonies to larger celebrations
The Deer House can accommodate from 30 guests where the wedding ceremony and Breakfast are both at the Deer House. Larger parties of up to 60 guests can be accommodated with the wedding ceremony being held at Swinton Park Hotel, the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations taking place at the Deer House. Maximum number of evening guests are 80.

Deer House catering is a relaxed dining experience served al fresco from our catering trailer. Prepared at the Estate’s Cookery School, personalise your wedding day based on your favourite dishes. For your wedding breakfast choose your three-course menu based on Swinton classics, for the evening, embrace the Yorkshire elements with a Hog Roast or BBQ.
