With a purpose-built swimming platform, our Wild Swimming lake in the grounds of Swinton Park Hotel, is ready for you!
Whether you have tried Wild Swimming before or not, we highly recommend you give it a go.
Swimming ‘wild’ is incredibly beneficial to your wellbeing; both physically and mentally.
Benefits can include; reduced muscle soreness, reduction in inflammation, immune system boosting, improved circulation and there is also claims it boosts brain power!
Please bring your own towel, we can provide a tow float for you to use!
Available throughout the year between 7am or sunrise (whichever is later) and 9pm or sunset (whichever is earlier).
If you’re already spending time with us as a Swinton Country Club day guest, or staying at Swinton Park Hotel, in one of our cottages, or at Swinton Bivouac, Wild Swimming is one of our complimentary activities. If you’re visiting for the day, a parkland and gardens pass can be purchased for £10 per day, or £60 for an entire year per person. Passes are available from the Swinton Country Club reception.
Coffin lake is not monitored by Swinton Estate and you are not permitted to bathe alone unless you have appointed a companion to be responsible for your safety and to watch you the shore. We do not provide any safety cover for swimmers nor do we monitor those who complete their swims and do or do not return to their point of entry to the parkland. For this reason we remind you that swimming alone is breach of our swimming rules.
Swimmers must be over 12 years old. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.
The activity takes place at Swinton Country Club.
