Aromatic spices, bold vibrant dishes

Explore fragrant spices, vibrant herbs, and bold regional flavours. This hands-on session introduces classic skills such as preparing and making artisan flatbreads, and poultry and vegetable preparation, and teaches how different methods of cooking vegetables affect their flavours. You might make imam bayildi, Moroccan chicken, Persian lamb, and chocolate ghribas*, all designed to inspire confident home cooking with depth and character.

Your course may feature

FAQs

Most half-day cookery courses start at 10:00am and finish around 1:30pm. Full-day courses start at at 10:00am and finish around 3:00pm. Please arrive at the Swinton Park Hotel reception for tea and coffee served from 9:30am. 

For children's courses, Mini Chefs takes place between 10:00am and 12:00pm. The Junior chefs course is between 2:00pm and 4:30pm.  

During half-day and full-day courses, lunch will be served consisting of dishes you've prepared during the event. Should you have any special dietary requirements or allergies please let us know so that we can ensure these are accommodated.

All required ingredients and equipment will be provided as part of your course. You don't need to bring anything extra - just yourself. 

Yes! When you finish the course, you'll receive a copy of all the recipes you learned to use at home.

Swinton Cookery School is a relaxed, open demonstration kitchen housed in a converted Georgian stable wing adjacent to Swinton Park hotel.
