Dining on the Swinton Estate

Showcasing produce from the Swinton Estate

A wide variety of culinary experiences

From the grandeur and opulence of an Epicurean menu in Samuel’s Restaurant by Executive Head Chef, Ruth Hansom; a relaxed lunch or supper in the contemporary Terrace Restaurant and Bar; a quintessential Afternoon Tea in the Drawing Room; a Chef’s Table in the Cookery School; private dining experiences; through to a hearty lunch or piece of cake at Swinton Bivouac Café…

All dining experiences on the Swinton Estate embrace the very best seasonal produce from across the estate, from our four acre Walled Garden, regionally and locally.

Samuel’s Restaurant

Roux Scholarship finalist, Great British Menu finalist and winner of a Caterer Acorn Award 2022. Ruth Hansom is enjoying a six-month residency as Executive Chef at the historic Samuel’s Restaurant.

The Terrace Restaurant & Bar

Situated near the Country Club and Spa, The Terrace Restaurant and Bar is at the heart of relaxed eating and drinking on the Swinton Estate.

Fabulous, beautifully furnished alfresco ‘terraced’ gardens, perfect for spring and summer lunches, suppers and drinks with friends; with blankets, heaters and sheepskins galore for chillier days.

Chef’s Table experience

We invite you to an unforgettable culinary experience. Through the intimate setting of the Cookery School, you’ll taste and discover the magic that goes into a gourmet menu.

Bivouac Café

The quirky Bivouac Café is our ‘on site’ watering hole where delicious, hearty breakfasts, lunches and suppers await! Coffee, teas, oodles of cakes are ready to sustain after fabulous days outdoors. The Bivouac Café boasts fabulous views over the Yorkshire Dales, with plenty of space to eat outside.

Cocktails and bars

From the cosy opulence of the Castle Bar, sitting close to Samuel’s Restaurant, the light and airy Terrace Bar; through to the beers, wines and spirits in the Bivouac Café, there is plenty of scope to imbibe your favourite tipple.

Spa dining

Spa Day guests can take advantage of our delicious Poolside Menus – created in the Terrace Restaurant and delivered to you in the Atrium; or lunches and suppers in the Terrace Restaurant and Bar – all utilising produce from the Swinton Estate.

Afternoon Tea

A quintessential tradition best enjoyed in the spectacular setting of Swinton Park on the Swinton Estate.

Enjoy beautiful, sweet delicacies from our pastry kitchen, locally sourced meats, local preserves, and perhaps a glass of English sparkling wine or champagne, for an extra special occasion.
