Roux Scholarship finalist, Great British Menu finalist and winner of a Caterer Acorn Award 2022. Ruth Hansom is enjoying a six-month residency as Executive Chef at the historic Samuel’s Restaurant.

Originally from Darlington, Ruth trained at Westminster College, followed by a three year apprenticeship at the Ritz under John Williams MBE.

Inspired by Yorkshire, Ruth’s signature menu encapsulates flavours from across Yorkshire and the Swinton Estate, and is available to enjoy exclusively at Samuel’s Restaurant. 

Ruth’s dishes feature fresh produce from the Swinton Estate, our Walled Garden and local suppliers. Ruth also follows a “nose to tail” approach, meaning every aspect of an animal is used throughout her menus.
