The Swinton Foundation

The Swinton Foundation is a charitable trust that supports artists, entrepreneurs and communities in the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding area, helping regenerate the rural landscape and with the Swinton Estate providing a base as a catalyst for further enterprise and development.

Current initiatives include supporting New Lights , a charity formed in 2010 to promote and support emerging young artists in contemporary art in the North of England.

A fundraising exhibition was held at Swinton Park with a selection of the North’s most talented established artists (including Norman Ackroyd RA CBE) on display and for sale.

The Swinton Foundation also supports New Lights with a Swinton Foundation Prize which is awarded to one of the shortlisted artists at the charity’s bi-annual exhibition at the Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate.
