Our properties range from small character cottages to large detached houses and farms. Some are within the Estate villages of Ilton, Swinton and Fearby, or within Masham, other properties are in more remote locations.
There are primary schools at Masham, Kell Bank and Grewelthorpe, a village hall at Fearby, churches at Masham and Healey and at Masham a doctor’s surgery, town hall, sports field and tennis courts, pre-school nursery, community office, a weekly market and a good selection of shops.
The majority of the Swinton Estate tenants have been renting from the Estate for many years. The Estate is currently rolling out a programme of refurbishment and improvement works across the portfolio. Works include energy efficiency works (insulation and efficient heating systems), new kitchen and bathrooms to create comfortable modern living.
The majority of our properties are let on assured short hold tenancies, and as a primary residence duty. Preference is given to applicants who have a local connection to the area, and full reference checks apply. The Estate Office handles all rental agreements and day-to-day issues.
