Cooking for Better Health – Half Day

A half-day, health based cookery course run by Swinton Cookery School’s chef tutor, Luke Palmer.

Luke has created a menu for you to prepare, cook and then enjoy the fruits of your labour through a hands-on cookery course. Health beneficial recipes are the focus – maintaining good gut health through a detoxifying diet. Your chef tutor will talk about the importance of variation in diets, importance of preparing products from scratch, and some top chef tips on how to ensure that healthy food both tastes and looks fantastic.

The classes take place in our stunning country kitchen with breathtaking views of Swinton Estate Grounds and Yorkshire Dales.

We always encourage a hands on approach within the classes and all ingredients and equipment will be provided.


Dishes can include:

  • Kale berry smoothie
  • Fish cooked ‘en papillote’ style with bone broth
  • Vegetable side dishes (sweet potato rosti, Tender broccoli and roasted red peppers)
  • Olive oil gluten free cake
  • Blackberry compote
  • Coconut Cream
