Dedicated Field Marksmanship & Range Days on the Swinton Estate.
Designed for experienced deer stalkers looking to improve their field shooting skills, this practical and informative day focuses on developing confidence, consistency, and accuracy in real-world shooting scenarios. The emphasis is not on extreme long-range shooting, but on building the knowledge and marksmanship skills required to take ethical and effective shots when longer distances are necessary.
The Day
Arrive at 9:00am and meet in the Arnagill, located within the Terrace Restaurant & Bar, where tea, coffee, and pastries will be served on arrival.
The morning session begins with an in-depth look at marksmanship techniques and shooting principles essential for accurate and consistent shooting. Following this, the group will move onto the Estate ranges, where each participant will fire a series of shots over a chronograph to record precise bullet velocities. This ballistic data will later be applied during the practical shooting exercises at varying distances.
Lunch is included, consisting of a venison burger and refreshments.
During the afternoon, candidates will put the morning’s instruction into practice, applying both shooting techniques and ballistic data to engage targets at 100, 150, 200, and 300 metres.
This promises to be an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded stalkers and shooters while improving your field shooting ability in the beautiful surroundings of Swinton Estate.
