At Swinton Bivouac we love all things rustic, sustainable and thoughtful. Our off grid accommodation consists of six original, hand crafted wooden Tree Lodges tucked away in our beautiful woodland, and seven canvas Yurts burrowed into the hillside, resting on individual wooden platforms.
The Cookery School runs a busy programme of half day and full day cookery classes throughout the year. Courses can be either residential or non residential and are available for all ages and ability levels, including children’s cookery lessons. All cookery classes are hands-on and practical, covering a range of themes and cookery techniques from Baking to Game.
Enjoy the ultimate relaxing country retreat at Swinton Park. We offer some of the most extensive shooting in the UK, with 20,000 acres of woodlands and valleys that stretch from the River Ure in Wensleydale up onto the moors. The Estate offers a beautiful mixture of heather moorland and deep valleys that produce some of the best grouse, partridge, pheasant and duck shooting in the country. We also host clay pigeon shooting, providing tuition at every level.
The Swinton Park Bird of Prey Centre is a very short walk from Swinton Park hotel, adjacent to the four acre walled garden and children’s play area. A number of different bird experiences are available for both residents and non-residents.
A wide range of fishing is available on the Swinton Estate which stretches from the river valley in Wensleydale up onto the moorland Dales. A two mile stretch on the River Ure can be fished for wild brown trout and grayling (and recently salmon have also returned to the river), and Leighton Reservoir is stocked with rainbow trout.
