Welcome to Swinton Park Hotel

Swinton Park Hotel is a historic Grade II* castle surrounded by 200 acres of Parkland & Gardens, set within the breathtaking 20,000-acre Swinton Estate. Owned by the Cunliffe-Lister family since the 1880s and the ancestral home of the Earl of Swinton, the hotel offers a unique country house experience that combines heritage, character, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Throughout the Castle, guests will find the feeling of a private country home rather than a traditional hotel, with individually designed bedrooms, elegant interiors, spacious bathrooms, and beautiful views across the Estate. Sustainability is also central to the Swinton Estate, with the hotel heated by an eco-friendly biomass boiler and a tree planted on the Estate for every stay.

Bedrooms and suites

Each bedroom and suite has been thoughtfully designed with a blend of classic furnishings, contemporary comforts, and distinctive character. Located within either the historic Castle or adjoining Coach House, rooms feature spacious layouts, beautiful en-suite bathrooms, and carefully considered details to create a memorable countryside stay.

Public Areas

From the Morning Room bathed in sunlight, the Drawing Room steeped in heritage and grandeur, and our intimate Sitting Room, through to the Billiard Room with its hidden cinema and den, the public areas of Swinton Park Hotel are beautiful, comfortable, and sumptuous.

Parkland & Gardens

Two hundred acres of historic Parkland and Gardens surround Swinton Park Hotel, offering spectacular views and an abundance of seasonal flowers and blossoms, with plenty of walking routes throughout.

Dining on the Swinton Estate

From British classics in Samuel’s Restaurant, a relaxed lunch or supper in the contemporary Terrace Restaurant & Bar, intimate fine-dining at Chef’s Table, through to a quintessential Afternoon Tea in the Drawing Room, scrumptious and leisurely breakfasts, private dining experiences, or a hearty lunch or piece of cake at Swinton Bivouac Café, there is a dining experience to suite every occasion.
