Swinton Foundation donates to the Mashamshire Community Office

£5,000 donation

The Swinton Foundation has donated £5,000 towards the fundraising efforts of the Mashamshire Community Office (MCO), to purchase the building they have operated from for the past 20 years.

The move to buy 7 Little Market Place in Masham, comes following the North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner’s decision to relocate North Yorkshire Police from the building they have shared with the MCO.

The Swinton Foundation is a charitable trust and has donated more than £80,000 over the past 10 years to local good causes in the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding area.

The Earl of Swinton, Mark Cunliffe-Lister, handed the cheque to Hayley Jackson manager of the MCO, saying: “The Swinton Foundation is absolutely delighted to contribute to the efforts of the MCO – being originally involved when the MCO was  set up, it continues to be a truly invaluable source of support to our local community and visitors to Masham”.

Fundraising continues over the Coronation Weekend (6–8 May) in Masham with a packed schedule of activities both in the town and at the Swinton Park Hotel.

Donations can also be made via telephone 01765 680200 or via justgiving.com.
