These companies are specialists in their own field, providing highly professional services and tuition and enriching our guest’s experience when visiting the Estate.
Unique experiences by experts in their craft
Live for Today is a Yorkshire-based activity and team building company which has been in operation since 2012. Their first activity centre was based at Hazelwood Castle, and they now operate four locations across North Yorkshire as well as offering an array of adventures which can be enjoyed across the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire landscape.
They opened their Swinton base in the spring of 2025 and now offer a variety of invigorating and challenging activities across the Estate as well as the newly opened Swinton Escape Rooms located adjacent to their estate office.
Born in Harrogate, Hugh Miller is a Yorkshire-based artist who uses the landscape of the Swinton Estate as the inspiration for many of his pieces. Hugh is a graduate of Chelsea College of Art and Design and was tutored by Turner prize-winner Chris Ofili.
The Northern Fishing School offers a wide range of fly-fishing activities for guests of all ages and capabilities. The school is run by Marina Gibson and her team of qualified fly-fishing guides and instructors who will be by your side as you pick up a fly rod for the first time or hone your technique ready to net that salmon you’ve been battling against.
Guests enjoying this activity on the Swinton Estate have access to lakes, rivers and reservoirs where you can fish for salmon, trout and grayling.
E.J. Churchill is one of the top shooting providers in the world. Its northern shooting ground on the Swinton Estate boasts some of the finest clay shooting facilities in the North of England.
Founded in 1895, Masham Golf Club is a beautiful nine-hole parkland course, dissected by the River Burn, set half a mile from Swinton Park. A favourite of singer Bing Crosby, the course is made up of sloping greens, elevated areas undulating fairways and picturesque views from every tee.
