The estate offers visitors a unique opportunity to traverse throughout our extensive 200 acres of beautiful grounds and parkland surrounding Swinton Park, throughout all seasons of the year. Featuring a 4-acre working walled kitchen garden where chefs from the Estate can be seen picking produce to be served in the award winning Estate restaurants. As you walk further round the parkland, you will discover the Coffin Pond with its stunning colours and nature gracing the waters, with Top Lake situated at the head of the parkland, a peaceful and picturesque area. Historical features are on display to be discovered, with a play area to entertain the little (and big) kids.
The parkland is divided from the castle by a serpentine stretch of water, Home Lake, designed to give the impression of a river running through the deer park which is home to a herd of approximately 200 fallow deer, including bucks, of which, some of these are very pale in colour – commonly mistaken for albino.
There are a variety of walking routes all with varying lengths. We ask that the rules of the countryside code are considerately followed at all times.
In order to maintain the conservation and sustainability of the gardens & parkland at Swinton Park, we kindly ask for a contribution for it to be enjoyed by many more guests in the years to come.
