Swinton Estate is alive with geocaches galore, hidden among the landscape. Use your phone or other GPS-enabled device to track down the geocache locations – each of which contains a log book for recording your visit.

How it works

Register at geocaching.com or download the app.
Choose a geocache from the list.
Enter the geocache’s coordinates into your GPS device and use it to find the hidden geocache.
When you find the geocache, sign the log book and return the geocache to its original location so others can find it too.

Geocaching is an activity where an item is hidden at a particular location for GPS users to find by means of coordinates. There are millions of geocaches hidden around the world!

I’ve found a geocache. Why is it full of random items?

Some geocaches don’t just have a log book. They include a container of “trade” items. If you take a item out of the box, please make sure you replace it!
