Willow Birds – Pheasants

Create your own willow sculpture

Sculptor Jess Wilkinson will guide you through this intensive day of willow weaving to create a beautiful bird sculpture  for your home or garden.

You’ll learn techniques and tips to help you work with willow, including how to source the right kind of willow for sculpture, what tools you will need and how to approach the work bit by bit and weave a solid structure.

The workshop also includes a two-course meal in the Terrace Restaurant and Bar, along with arrival tea/coffee/biscuits.

Jess Wilkinson is a willow artist. She lives on a farm and is inspired by her natural surroundings. Jess uses willow, cornus, birch and many other locally-grown woods to create organic sculptural forms.

Itinerary

9.30 am – Arrive at the Deer House where tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.

10.00 am prompt – The course will start with Jess Wilkinson.

1.30 pm – A two-course lunch will be served in The Terrace Restaurant and Bar.

2.30 pm – Course to recommence.

4.00 pm – Estimated finishing time.

Followed by optional two-hour spa access add on.

What to bring

  • If you have secateurs or gardening gloves, please bring them but it’s not essential as tools will be provided.
  • Please wear clothes that you don’t mind messing up.
